c.stem 2007 review
Monday, 10. December 2007

Ok that’s a lie. Due to acute lack of time it’s actually not a review, but I can tell you that it’s over and it was great. Turin is a lovely city, and the festival itself had a very personal atmosphere and was on a high level concerning the contents. Thanks a lot for the invitation to Nada and ToDo.

And here some photos of mine, but also have a look at the the official ones!

frankfurt’s museums
Sunday, 16. September 2007

…are definitely worth a visit. Best spots to go so far:
MMK – ugly from the outside, but great collection inside!
Schirn Kunsthalle – nice, changing exhibitions. Currently the “John Bock Films” can be recommended.

new meso website

meso

As promised, meso relaunched the website: mesodigital interiors
A lot of great humour in the details – as actually expected from people naming nodes after Taxi Driver actors!

arrived
Wednesday, 8. August 2007

Mainhattan, Bankfurt… you can chose quite stupid names for this city.
The reason for not posting for a while is my moving to Frankfurt, and the so initiated “forgetting my solar powered keyboard in a package and damaging it by pure darkness”.
But thank meso I got an old DIN standardized Cherry now, and they also decided to let me work as an intern. Yeah! I’m going to link their website when they finally renewed them, in the meantime check some of their work here.

toilets 2006-2007
Wednesday, 25. July 2007

Yes, perhaps a strange way of recapitulating past events. But it works.
Being on a public toilet can be quite boring, so I started taking photos of this boring looking doors I was staring at. I’m doing this for about one year now, and I think it’s a good point to release the first “results”. The rules:
- every toilet is photographed when visiting it the first time
- the point of view is authentic and the image is not being composed in any way
- take the time to name the image correctly or you’ll forget the details…

sagmeister workshop
Monday, 19. March 2007

sagmeister

We are enjoying a Stefan Sagmeister workshop this semester. Details are being posted on the associated workshop blog.
Marias Grandma gave her the advice to absolve the upcming internship term at Sagmeister Inc., after she heard a report about him at the local radio. I really like her note:

just ordered…
Monday, 19. March 2007

Yeah, we just ordered this nice Arduino Bluetooth microcontroller.

“Arduino can be used to develop interactive objects, taking inputs from a variety of switches or sensors, and controlling a variety of lights, motors, and other outputs. Arduino projects can be stand-alone, or they can be communicate with software running on your computer (e.g. Flash, Processing, MaxMSP, VVVV)”

Be prepared for stuff I can’t pronounce yet.

trace your surname
Wednesday, 6. December 2006

Geogen is a nice web application which enables you to create a map showing the spread of your surname. The statistic is based on phone book entries.
Steinweber is a rare one, and can only be found in Upper Bavaria. But not in my county because I’m not in the telephone book anymore :)

steinwebers on a map

The new Version (3.0) works now for Austria, too.
