I recently tumbled over an interesting (and artistical) documentary which deals with the removal of graffiti by overpainting them. This seems to be a big thing in the USA, especially in Portland – I’ve not yet recognized something like that in this dimension in Europe.
The Movie is directed by Matt McCormick and spoken by the gorgeous Miranda July*. So, if you wonder where to get it, have a look at this great blog.

Very nice: “In the meantime” by Alexandra Hager.

4. Awesome, c71123 made a video out of 8 years of his life.

1. I just found a website which reminded me of a video I saw a few months ago at habedieehre (see below). The project “zwanzig-vierzig” from Michael Harms shows the passed time in a, for me, very emotional way. As you can already guess from the title, he made a photo from his friends when they were 20 years old, and one when they were 40. An impressive persistent work. And here the work by ahreelee: Link

I like it this genre until know, because most of them are very lovely designed and animated. To name some examples:
_ Ozan Halici and Jürgen Mayer from the University of Applied Sciences Ulm/Germany dealt with the power of Google in their bachelor thesis, and visualized it in a nice way: “Masterplan – about the power of Google“
_ Clemens Kogler from Linz/Austria also seems to have an affinity to this kind of projects, like his Filmriss winning video “Arbeit2.0” and his newest work “Le grand Content” shows.

_ Öberösterreich: “Blutfluss” by Daniel Hollerweger ex aequeo with “Glück” by Laura Nöbauer
_ Tirol: “Auszeit” by Nino Leitner
_ Kärnten: “Lepa Igrica” by Stefan Reichmann (will be filed in my portfolio soon, because I was the camera operator)
_ special price: “An Ecken” by Katharina Mayrhofer and Jasmin Herz
_ honoured: “Salz & Pfeffer” by Rainer Rossgoderer

I found a second commercial, dealing with the same principle:
old post:
This Talk Talk commercial is being praised for the good idea. I also like it:
But it’s obviously not the idea from the agency Clemmow Hornby Inge or from the director David Frankham, but from the director icon Michel Gondry.
Don’t get me wrong, I like the conversion from Talk Talk. The choreography is even better, but I think that the source of inspiration should be mentioned.

preEnter is a audiovisual project which involves the audience in an interesting way: There are set up 6 flat bed scanners which people can use the way they like it and the results are being used for an audiovisual live performance later on. Watch out for the video documentation.
The people behind this project are from the german artist group YouAreWatchingUs.
The ladies and gentlemen from doubleyou found a very creative way for wishing us a happy new year. You should also check out their website and study their philosophy – very inspiring.
